Best Couples Widget Apps for iPhone (Honest Roundup, 2026)

By the Twoodle team · November 2026

Disclosure: we make Twoodle, which is on this list. We put it in the middle on purpose, we say where it falls short, and everything about other apps comes from their App Store pages as we read them in November 2026. Prices and features change, so check the listing before you pay.

Choosing a couples widget app is a bit like choosing a restaurant with your partner. Everyone says "I don't mind," and then someone minds a lot.

So here's the short answer first. If you want a counter, pick a counter app. If you want to send each other things, pick a messaging app. If you want a pet, a diary and a shared calendar, there's an app for that too. The trick is knowing which of the three you actually want.

Lovebox

Lovebox lets you send messages, photos, drawings, stickers and GIFs, and shows them in a Home Screen widget. It also pairs with a physical Lovebox device whose heart spins when something arrives. The App Store listing says the free widget works without the hardware.

Good at: being the best-known name in the category, with about 3.9K ratings at 4.7 when we looked. Less good at: its listing is aimed at long-distance love and loved ones in general, so it isn't couples-specific, and we found no Lock Screen widget mentioned. We compare it in more detail in our Lovebox alternative guide.

Couple Widgets

This one is built around Home Screen day counters and anniversaries, with photos, names and birthdates for both of you, plus custom fonts and backgrounds. It also has couple mini-games such as roulette and truth or dare.

Good at: being cheap and customizable, and supporting older iPhones (iOS 13 or later). Less good at: it isn't a send-each-other-things app, and the listing shows an optional "remove ads" purchase, which tells you ads exist in the free version.

CoupleLink: Love Counter Diary

CoupleLink is the kitchen-sink option: a love counter, shared diary, shared calendar, mood tracker, daily questions, a love streak, a virtual shared pet, and Home Screen widgets that show your partner's latest note and mood. Notes vanish after 24 hours.

Good at: giving you lots to do together, at a lower price than most. Less good at: the listing says it contains advertising, it has only 18 ratings (4.2) as of our check, and the privacy section lists data used for tracking. If privacy matters to you, read that section first.

Loveya: Couples Widgets

Loveya offers six widgets for both Home and Lock Screen: Together Counter, Partner Mood, Distance, Countdown, Partner Photo and Handwritten Note. It also has shared photos, doodles, moods, nudges and streaks, and you pair with an invite code instead of making an account. One partner's subscription covers both.

Good at: widget variety, especially on the Lock Screen. Less good at: it requires iOS 26 or later, so it's out if either of you hasn't updated. It's also the priciest monthly plan here at $9.99, and its rating is based on only 20 reviews.

iFeely: Couples Widget & Love

iFeely focuses on mood and real-time distance widgets on the Home and Lock Screen, daily step battles synced with Apple Health, and "Photo Sparks," where your partner scratches the screen to reveal a photo. One Premium subscription covers both of you, and the listing says there are no ads.

Good at: playful, game-like moments, and it is the only app here with step battles. Less good at: it's new enough that the store showed no rating yet, and it uses Health and location data to do its thing.

Twoodle (that's us)

Twoodle is an iPhone app for couples that sends doodles to your partner's Home Screen widget. You draw on a blank canvas or a photo, hit send, and it shows up on their widget. Lock Screen widgets carry love notes and your days together, and there's a live "draw together" canvas inside the app. It also has moods, distance bubbles, nudges, a gallery and important dates.

Good at: drawing as the main event. Doodles go to the Home Screen widget only, not the Lock Screen. It needs no sign-up, and we don't show ads, sell data or track you across apps and no cross-app tracking. One Twoodle Pro subscription covers both of you. Less good at: it's iPhone only (iOS 18 or later), at $49.99 a year Pro costs more than several apps here, and if you only want a day counter it's more than you need.

Want to see if drawing is your thing?

Free to download. One Twoodle Pro subscription covers both of you.

How to pick in 60 seconds

  • You only want a counter: Couple Widgets is built for exactly that.
  • You want a whole shared life in one app: CoupleLink, if you're comfortable with ads and the privacy listing.
  • You want lots of Lock Screen widgets: Loveya, as long as you're both on iOS 26.
  • You want games and mood: iFeely.
  • You like the idea of a physical object: Lovebox.
  • You want to doodle on each other's phones: Twoodle, or Lovebox and Loveya, which also list drawing. We explain how that works in our guide to drawing on your partner's iPhone widgets.

One honest tip: whatever you pick, try the free version together for a week before paying. The best app is the one you both keep opening after the novelty wears off.

FAQ

What is a couples widget app?

A couples widget app puts something from your partner on your iPhone Home Screen or Lock Screen: a day counter, a note, a mood, a photo, a distance, or a doodle. Both of you install the app and pair, usually with an invite code.

Do both of us need to pay?

It depends on the app. Loveya, iFeely and Twoodle say one subscription covers both partners. Check each app's App Store page before subscribing, since prices and terms change.

Which one is best for a simple days-together counter?

Couple Widgets and CoupleLink are built around day counters and anniversaries on the Home Screen. If you only want a counter, you probably don't need a messaging app.

Can I send drawings to my partner's widget?

Yes, in several apps. Lovebox, Loveya and Twoodle all list drawing or handwriting features. In Twoodle, doodles appear on your partner's Home Screen widget, not the Lock Screen.

P.S. If you read all six and still can't decide, download Twoodle, draw something ridiculous, and see whether your partner laughs. That's the whole test.
